About Dr. Laurie Reider Lewis

Dr. Lewis is a licensed psychologist who provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She also offers psychoeducational, neuropsychological, and psychological assessment services for children and adolescents.

Dr. Lewis earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in psychology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center, with specialties in child anxiety and mood disorders, family therapy, diagnostic evaluation, neuropsychological assessment, and school-based mental health. Dr. Lewis received additional training in neuropsychological assessment at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City, and has also worked in the areas of infant and preschool mental health and pediatric psychology.

Upon completion of her pre-doctoral internship, Dr. Lewis was asked to join the Department of Pediatric Psychiatry at New York-Presbyterian Hospital as a staff psychologist for a grant-funded specialty program providing psychotherapy to depressed mothers of suicidal youth. During her tenure at the hospital, Dr. Lewis received a faculty appointment as an Instructor in Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. In this role, Dr. Lewis provided clinical supervision and training to child psychology interns.

In addition to her doctorate, Dr. Lewis holds her Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University. As a former elementary and middle school teacher and school counselor, Dr. Lewis particularly enjoys consultation and outreach work with schools.
